Forest School
Forest School at Reynalds Cross gives our pupils the chance to get outdoors and explore in a calm and purposeful way. Sessions take place throughout the year and are shaped around each learner, helping them build confidence, communication and independence through hands-on activities. Pupils make bug hotels, roll food balls for birds, spot insects and animals, go on nature hunts, create woodland art, do a bit of gardening and learn how to stay safe in the garden. We also include simple tasks like litter picking, so pupils can help look after their environment. The focus is on exploring and having a go rather than ticking off set outcomes, giving our pupils the space to try new things, take safe risks and enjoy all the sensory benefits of being outdoors. Over time, pupils grow in resilience, teamwork and problem-solving while discovering the natural world at their own pace.
