Due to the promotion of our current Deputy Head Teacher, we are looking for an inspiring and innovative leader to build on our school’s current strengths and achievements.

We are a caring, happy and successful special school situated in Olton, Solihull on the Langley Secondary School Campus and the Green Lane Site in Shirley. The school caters for pupils from 2-19 with a wide range of Special Education Needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay and Severe Learning Difficulties. In September 2018, we took over responsibility for the Green Lane nursery site and from September 2020, this site now incorporates our Nursery and Reception class. In September 2021, we have taken over Coronation Youth Centre which is also on the Green Lane Site. This will enable us to provide better provision for our 14-19 pupils and will give the successful candidate a very exciting opportunity to be part of this new development within our school.

Our vision is “To be the best of the best; to be a place where “Every Individual” really does matter, to maximise independent learning and enjoyment in line with school aims and to be a positive, happy and fun learning environment with outstanding features”

We are an outwardly facing school and with your support and initiatives you will be a ‘key player’ to move to outstanding by further developing both pupils and staff during this journey. You will have specific responsibilities for driving forward aspects of school improvement.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Excellent leadership skills
  • A commitment to realising the potential of every child
  • The ability to inspire and motivate others
  • A commitment to continuing a specialised curriculum
  • A supportive nature
  • Someone who values our ethos and will continue to build on the school’s current strengths.

We will offer you:

  • Enthusiastic pupils who are eager to learn and are proud of their school.
  • Motivated, committed, dedicated and experienced staff and a happy, friendly working environment.
  • An opportunity to build upon the momentum of recent progress and successes.
  • Supportive Governors, parents and Local Authority who are committed to developing the school

This is a fantastic and exciting time to join our school and make a difference by driving forward opportunities and outcomes for our pupils with SEND. If you feel you have the qualities and passion to work alongside a committed and caring school please arrange to visit the school. Please either e-mail the school on or telephone 0121 707 3012.

The closing date for applications is 30th September 2021.

The selection days will be held on 14th and 15th October 2021.

If you would like to discuss any aspects of the post or have any difficulties downloading the application information, please either telephone the School on 0121 707 3012 or e-mail the school on

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children in our care and expect all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to all necessary pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check.
