Chinese New Year

This event will take place on 17/02/2026

Chinese New Year, also called Lunar New Year or Spring Festival, marks the start of the new year in the traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar and is one of the most important celebrations in Chinese culture worldwide. Each year is linked to one of 12 zodiac animals, based on a legend about a race between them, and the date changes each year because it follows the sun and moon rather than a fixed calendar. Traditions include family reunion meals, cleaning homes for good luck, decorating with red, setting off firecrackers, and giving money in red envelopes. This year is represented by the Horse.
